This site is sponsored by: Click here to advertise with TESOL Greece	TESOL Greece is an independent, volunteer, non-profit professional association for teachers of English as a foreign language and other ELT professionals working in Greece. TESOL Greece is a TESOL Inc affiliate and an IATEFL associate. TESOL Greece currently has about 600 members, including teachers, teacher trainers, university students and staff, directors of study, school owners, publishers, writers, editors, researchers and consultants. Anybody who is involved in English teaching in Greece can join TESOL Greece. How does TESOL Greece operate? TESOL Greece is administered by an elected Board of Directors. Any member of TESOL Greece can stand for election to the Board. Elections are held every year at the Annual General Assembly at TESOL Greece’s Annual Convention. All Board Members are unpaid volunteers. TESOL Greece has one paid employee: Antigoni Konstanti, TESOL Greece Executive Secretary. What are TESOL Greece’s goals? to encourage cooperation amongst ELT professionals in both the private and public sectors to provide a forum for members to share and exchange ideas and to socialize with colleagues from Greece and abroad to organize conventions and events with presentations, talks and workshops by our members and professionals of national and international repute to produce a high quality newsletter to announce upcoming events and to inform members of issues relevant to the ELT field to inform aspiring as well as experienced teachers of opportunities for professional advancement and training How, When and Why: A Brief History of the Founding of TESOL Greece
	What can TESOL Greece offer you?
	professional development through seminars and workshops throughout the year as well as the annual two-day convention with well-known national and international speakers. a forum, both at TESOL Greece events and on the Internet via our e-discussion group, in which to exchange ideas on classroom teaching, ELT management, learning, research, publishing, etc. the latest information on resources available, by browsing the stands of local and international publishers who exhibit regularly at seminars and the Annual Convention. a chance to socialize and network with colleagues from all over Greece and overseas at seminars and conferences and social events organized by TESOL Greece. the opportunity to join one or more of TESOL Greece’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs). There are currently 4 SIGs – MM/CALL (Multimedia and Computer Assisted Language Learning); YL (Young Learners); EAP/ESP (English for Academic Purposes and English for Specific Purposes) and Drama/Lit (Drama and Literature). improved career prospects through the professional development offered by TESOL seminars and also through the contacts you make with colleagues. a Resource Room at the TESOL Greece office with copies of ELT journals, newsletters and resource books available for members’ use. a quarterly Newsletter mailed to you, containing articles, research, and classroom ideas as well as information on events and ELT issues here in Greece. regular email bulletins providing you with the latest TESOL Greece news. the chance to be awarded a TESOL Greece scholarship or award. discounts at bookstores exclusively for TESOL Greece members. Get involved! You can get involved as a TESOL Greece volunteer. Resource Room Located in the TESOL Greece office, (17 Kapodistriou Street, 106 77 Athens) the Resource Room contains a variety of materials including reference books, course books, journals and newspapers. The Resource Room is usually open from 9 am-1 pm, Monday-Friday but please phone the office first to ensure the Resource Room is open on the particular day you wish to use it.
